001 -- Introduction Post

tie it off
Welcome to my LiveJournal! You can call me Cat. My journal is not friends-locked, so there's no need to comment here if you don't want too. Since you've stopped by though, I guess I should introduce myself.

I'm 22, single, Caucasian female. I enjoy cooking, horseback riding, music of all kinds, and am fairly nocturnal most of the time. My favorite animals are cats and wolves.

Fandoms or movies/books I enjoy, include: Harry Potter, which I actually write fanfiction for, How I Met Your Mother, Hex, Being Human, Leverage, Wicked, Top Gear, The Big Bang Theory, Dark Shadows, and Sliders.

Games I enjoy include: Sims 1, Sims 2, Sims 3 (far less than the others, but...), Mystery Case Files, Daycare Nightmare 1 & 2, online breeding games like PureFelinity.

The easiest way to contact me for whatever reason is through commenting on my journal, PMing me through LiveJournal, or instant messaging me on AIM at amphorawater.

I also do a lot of writing, original and Harry Potter fan-fiction. I am a staunch Mac lover, and don't use a PC unless I have to for some reason.

If you're still here, Im amazed, and feel free to friend me.

Pretty much now. Since people around me celebrate different holidays, I find it prudent to start after Hallowe'en, and I have to admit, you gotta love the internet.

Have you seen New Moon? If so, how do you think it compared to the book? Was it better or worse than Twilight? Please, no spoilers!

I'm going too, purely for the werewolves, but I hate the series, hate the hype, and am waiting until my seeing it won't give Stephanie Meyer any money or positive reinforcement.

003 -- Cherry-Glazed Madeleines

no borders
I made these today for my cousin who just finished Proust, and wanted to try a madeleine. Traditional madeleines are made with all-purpose flour and finely ground nuts, sometimes lemon zest, but I like experimenting, so these are made with almond flour as a nod to my low-carb friends, even though these aren't in any sense good for you, unless you mean good for the soul, and with an (optional) cherry glaze. You will also need a madeleine pan, which can be purchased online or at cooking shops.

Usually? I check my email, and see if there's anything I need to reply to, before going to play with my Sims or checking out comms on LiveJournal, but because it's November, I've been checking my word-count and NaNoWriMo-ing, unofficially.
